Management Pack for Nagios

The Blue Medora VMware vRealize Operations Management Pack for Nagios is an embedded adapter for vRealize Operations (vROps), collecting performance data from your Nagios environment and providing predictive analytics and real-time information about problems in your infrastructure—within the vRealize Operations user interface.

This release incorporates a number of bug fixes and optimizations, including:

  • JSON parsing is more safe

  • Incorporated the following changes from previous LA releases:
    • Added a RelationshipSyncInterval to the properties file to help reduce the frequency at which relationships are collected
    • Changed the default interval from 10 to 288

    • Removed relationship creation for VMWare to Nagios tag to reduce scaling issues

    • Removed lightweight relationships and default throttling
    • Used vROps default monitored policy to remove "noisy" string properties from being tracked in vROps (helps prevent performance issues related to rapidly changing properties)

    • Addressed an exception occurring when decoding/encoding strings related to services

    • Replaced deprecated ODIP calls affecting platform stability with Suite API calls

    • Changed Suite API relationship calls to be "throttleable"

    • Changed whitelist to disallow all undescribed services by default

    • Generalized CPU, Memory and Disk service finding

    • Fixed issues collecting CPU, Memory and Disk metrics
